When congress has an approval rating of 11% yet incumbents win reelection 98% of the time — the system is clearly broken. That’s why Ammar proposes a term limits plan modeled after the military’s “up or out” program that requires members of congress to perform (pass bipartisan legislation) and promote (secure committee appointments) within the first 3 terms or be forced to retire. Based on performance and promotion, members can serve as few as 6 years and for a maximum of 20 years.
I don’t have 10 point plant to fix corruption in Washington, I have one plan. As your congressman, I would introduce an amendment to the constitution that would eliminate corporate money or "dark money" from being donated to political campaigns. The amendment would make Citizens United unconstitutional, end the influence of money in politics, and give voters their power back over elected federal officials.
Election Reform

Our country faces many threats. But the gravest danger to our democracy is when we, citizens, take our vote for granted. Our voices must be heard and votes must be counted.
It’s time to get money out of politics and overturn Citizens United. From getting big money out of politics to the way we conduct elections, we have a system that gives inordinate influence to insiders, major corporations, and the politically connected. But that's not how democracy is supposed to work. I will fight for reforms that put people first. I am proud to have earned the endorsement of End Citizens United.
We need to ask ourselves whether the Democratic Party should put the interests of superdelegates above those of the American voter. We need to explore ways to eliminate the influence of Super PACs on both sides of the aisle, whether through a constitutional amendment or by preventing out-of-district special interests from overwhelming our local election. And we should be discussing issues like term limits such as two terms in the Senate, so that we have more representatives and fewer career politicians. We need to once and for all make publicly funded elections a reality.
We have a great nation. We need to protect it. And that starts with the people. That's why I will advocate for reforms that help raise the voices of each and every American citizen.
Ending the Washington Double Standard
I’d introduce a bill that requires members of congress to pass annual budgets before getting paid. That means: No budget, no pay.
Also, congress should receive the same exact healthcare package they ultimately pass into law.
