For decades, our city leaders have promised to bring a 4-year university to East Chula Vista that will cultivate and foster innovation and opportunities for our residents. My commitment to our youth and the future of Chula Vista starts with ensuring that this longtime promise becomes a reality.

Ammar’s Vision for an Innovative Chula Vista

Public safety

Ammar will accomplish what our current elected politicians have failed to do: Grow our economy to invest in making our neighborhoods safer by reducing traffic with road development, address homelessness, hire 40 additional police officers to reduce crime, equal pay for firefighters, senior services, and getting deadly drugs like fentanyl off our streets and away from our youth.

Supporting Working Families, Youth, and Seniors

As mayor, Ammar will work to address the rising costs of gas, utilities, and groceries; help working families and the unsheltered pursue their dream of homeownership, build more workforce housing for teachers, police, firefighters, and other public workers so they can have a personal stake in the communities they serve.

Make our neighborhoods more accessible for seniors; keep schools open, and address 2 years of pandemic learning loss. Reopen parks and recs, promote summer jobs programs, and after-school activities to empower our youth and ensure their success.

Small Businesses, Jobs and Economy

As a small business owner, executive for the US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and Department of Labor official, Ammar has the pro-economic growth vision for Chula Vista we need. Ammar’s plan will generate the revenue to take on long-overdue projects like a new university, making the 125 HWY free for residents, reopening a grocery store on the vacant Albertsons in San Miguel Ranch, and invest in new roadways to build a Stadium next to the Chula Vista Olympic Training Center.

The university in East Chula Vista’s Innovation District will create a pipeline of highly skilled talent, attract new industries, and provide research and tech jobs to lead in a changing world. Expanding our binational commerce will attract more international trade between South Bay San Diego to the Baja California region; and our $1.3 billion Bayfront development will grow our economy, boost local businesses with new customers, and serve as a launching pad for blue tech innovation and “new collar” jobs.
